Petrolia man charged in hit and run in Sarnia

A 20-year-old Petrolia man turned himself in to Sarnia Police after a hit-and-run investigation.

Noah O’Dwyer Bristol faces multiple charges including causing injury with a vehicle, assault with a weapon and failure to stop at an accident. He was held in custody Tuesday pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia Police say on Aug. 21 on Elizabeth Ave. in Sarnia, a pickup truck struck a man. Officers arrived and found the victim on the ground. He was taken to Bluewater Health with significant injuries.

Sarnia Police found the truck abandoned nearby. The Traffic Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch used it to identify the suspect.    

Police have not identified the victim, but after the crash family of 24 year-old Clayton Ball of Sarnia set up a Go Fund Me page identifying him as the victim of the hit and run. The new father is now in stable condition in a London hospital, where he is recovering from many serious internal and external injuries including a broken jaw.

The ‘Help Support Clayton Ball And His Family’ page had raised nearly $15,000 by Wednesday afternoon.
