Petrolia mayor wonders if Wingfield should be one way

Town launches online survey to find out
Now that the reconstruction of Wingfield Street in Petrolia is almost complete, Petrolia Mayor Brad Loosley wants to take a look at making it a one way thoroughfare.
Cope Construction paving the reconstructed street today (Thursday) completing the $1 million project in what the town calls the theatre district.
“It’s so narrow there, it is so difficult for parking there even on one side, I am looking to see if there are ideas,” Loosley told council Monday.
He wanted to solicit comments from Wingfield St. residents and have staff report back on the idea. Council agreed, including Councillor Joel Field who also wondered about the timing.
“If we’re going to do something like this, we need the public’s input. My question comes – are we doing this after the fact? Would there have been design changes that could have made this easier?”
“I am certainly open to all ideas,” says Loosley.
Town staff has created an online survey available here:

The survey is available until Monday, Sept. 28 noon and the results will be included on the Tuesday Oct. 13 council agenda where it will be discussed.
