Greenwood arena closing day early due to COVID-19

December 23, 2020

The Town of Petrolia is closing the Greenwood Recreation Centre a day before it planned.

It’s cancelling all on ice activities for Dec. 24 because of the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 in Lambton. Twenty four people tested positive for the virus today.

The arena will now close at 9 pm today.

Town hall is also closing at the end of the day. Officials say people who hoped to buy dog tags for 2021 will now have until Feb. 28 with the late renewal fee delayed until March 31.

If you order 150th anniversary merchandise for Christmas, you’re asked to call town hall to pick it up by noon Dec. 24.

The Watford and Alvinston arenas will also be close because of the provincial lockdown. Municipal offices across the province will also be closed to the public. Residents can contact municipal staff through email or by telephone.
