One person dies in accident near Oil Springs

September 10, 2021

Lambton OPP say one person has died in an accident at the corner of Marthaville Road and Aberfeldy Line.

Police were called to the scene just after 8 am this morning for a two vehicle accident.

Paramedics treated and brought two people to hospital with what are being called non-life threatening injuries.

A third person involved in the crash has died.

Police are still notifying next of kin so the victim’s name isn’t being released yet.

The investigation into the accident continues so the intersection and the roads surrounding it are still closed. Marthaville Road is closed between Oil Springs Line and Edy’s Mills Line and Aberfeld Line is closed between Robinson Road and Tramway Road.

This intersection has been the site of a deadly accident before. In Nov. 2015, a Lambton county teacher was killed in an accident at the very corner on her way to school.
