Wallaceburg woman charged in hit and run death
Heart Full of Cash up for award
March 22, 2022
A book written by a Lambton Centennial School teacher and illustrated by students at the school is up for a prestigious award.
A Heart Full of Cash is one of five books up for the 2022 IODE Jean Throop Book Award. The award is meant to encourage the publication of excellent Canadian authored children’s books for children ages three to seven.
Publishers submit titles for the award and the book by Steve McGrail, about his friend Cash Stevenson, is in the running this year. It’s up against some pretty big names in the children’s book industry including Robert Munsch for his book I Can Fix It!
In its release about the competition the IODE says, “These five newly published Canadian books will teach and bring pure enjoyment to young children and the adults in their lives. Visually, their appeal lies in everything from cartoon-like illustrations to clay art; the use of deep, rich colours to reflect the content and pages that appear like paintings.
The winner will be named at the IODE’s provincial conference April 23.
