LCCVI student council co prime minister wins prestigious Canadian scholarship

LCCVI’s student council co-prime minister is joining a very prestigious group.
Emma Patchett has been named a Loran Scholar. The Loran Scholar foundation offers country’s largest and most comprehensive four-year undergraduate award valued at $100,000 to 30 young Canadians on the basis of character, service and the promise of leadership. Last year, over 6,000 people applied.
Patchett has lead the LCCVI student council through the second year of the pandemic, trying to provide activities in the age of social distancing and masks. She’s also the co-chair of the Lambton-Kent District School Board’s Student Senate.
Patchett is involved in all kinds of sports including hockey, tennis, cross country and track as well as being the co-president of the Athletic Association.
She’s also part of the school band and holds a part-time job at a pizza place.
