Wallaceburg woman charged in hit and run death
OPP say move over for emergency vehicles
July 29, 2022
The OPP wants to make sure you’re on the lookout for emergency vehicles this weekend and move over.
Over this long weekend, OPP will be laying charges when people don’t pull over to give emergency vehicles and tow trucks enough room to do their jobs.
The law, officials say, has been in place for almost 20 years and police laid close to 900 charges in 2021 when motorists disregarded the regulation.
If you’re charged, you could be fined between $490 and $2,000 plus lose three demerit points the first time. You could be jailed the second time and lose your license.
