Lancer wrestlers bring home the gold

Brock Callister and Luke Holmes of LCCVI won gold medals at the LKSSAA wrestling championships Thursday at North Lambton in Forest.

Callister captured the 72 kg class, and Holmes was tops in the 83 kg category.

Corunna’s Masen Flett of Great Lakes won the 89 kg final, Hayden Wilson of the host school captured the 130 kg event, and Riley Crummer of Florence beat his brother Wesley in the 57.5 kg championships bout.

Meantime, Allyssa Crummer of Florence won the 47.5 class on the girls’ side of the ledger and Devynn Manning of North Lambton was top of the podium in the 54 kg final.  

The Crummer family attends Ursuline in Chatham.  

Abigail Ginn and Kylee Somerville were the top finisher from LCCVI in girls’ action. Both finished third in their weight classes.

The SWOSSA final will be held at St. Pat’s in Sarnia next Thursday.
