Pedestrians in downtown Petrolia were doing a double take on the main street. A carving of head of what appeared to be a dog or a wolf was sitting on top of a garbage bin near Crabby Joe’s Feb. 19. Town of Petrolia officials were notified. The town has a number of carvings in Bridgeview Park however none had been decapitated. Laurissa Ellsworth, director of marketing, arts and communications, speculated the carving may have come from a home in town. Ellsworth says when officials went to find the item, the head was already gone.
