Sarnia man charged in police chase through Lambton

A 38 year-old Sarnia man is facing three charges after OPP chased a vehicle through Plympton-Wyoming and Brooke-Alvinston.

Lambton OPP say around just before 1 pm July 19 police received a call about a suspicious vehicle a home on Egremont Road. An officer on patrol saw the vehicle and then watched as the vehicle drove erratically.

Police flipped on the lights and sirens but the driver didn’t stop.

Around 3:30 pm the same day, an OPP officer was approached by someone in the community saying there was a suspicious vehicle on Little Ireland Road near Alvinston. It was captured on video surveillance and the vehicle was the same as the earlier incident.

Police identified the driver July 21 and arrested the 38 year-old, charging him with dangerous driving, flight from police and assault with a weapon.
