Anniversary celebrations, music festivals and book projects to receive money from the Lambton Creative County grant

Anniversary celebrations, a book club and Inwood’s music festival are among the projects receiving funding under the Creative County Grant in 2025.

Lambton County, which administers the $75,000 yearly fund promoting community arts and recreation projects, announced the recipients today.

Oil Springs will receive $8,000 to help celebrate the village’s 160th anniversary in 2025.

Inwood’s 150th Celebration Committee will receive $3,000 to run another music festival in 2025.

And Sir John Moore Community School receives $1,000 for a Winter Book Club.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority will also receive $1,250 to create signs marking the importance of Archie Campbell in the creation of Campbell Park. The authority is tearing down Campbell House in 2025.

Close to $70,000 was divided up among the 19 projects this year. The total cost of the cultural events and installations is estimated to be around $322,000.

Since 2013, the program supported more than 200 local projects with about $730,000 in grants. Those grants spurred $4.4 million in spending.

Here’s the full list of those receiving Creative County grants for 2025.

  • $10,000 to the VON Ontario Student Nutrition Program for Lambton Cultural
    Food Days
  • $7,500 to the Moore Agricultural Society towards the175 Years of Growth projec
  • $5,000 to BoWaine Ma to support the pilot project A Photographic Memory of
    Surf and Skate Culture in Lambton County.
  • $3,500 to Pathways Health Centre for Children for a theatre production
  • $2,500 to the Optimist Club of Grand Bend & District to support Beachfest
  • $2,500 to Kip Cuthbert for the book Maud Hanna and Canatara Park
  • $4,000 to Theatre Sarnia to support Indigenous cultural programming
  • $1,000 to Sir John Moore Community School for the Winter Book Club
  • $5,000 to the nuSarnia Foundation towards a Heritage Cycling tour
  • $1,500 to the Sarnia Concert Association for community outreach programs
  • $5,000 to 234 Front St. North Inc., for a public art mural
  • $5,000 to the Kiwanis Club of Forest for a commemorative sign to support the
    Whyte Park Centennial Celebration initiative.
  • $750 to the Kiwanis Club of Petrolia for Fiery Faces
  • $8,000 to the Village of Oil Springs to support the Village’s 160th Anniversary
    Celebrations in 2025.
  • $775 to the Petrolia Discovery Foundation for interpretive signage for self guided tours
  • $1,500 to the Town of Petrolia, for the Petrolia Veteran Lawn Recognition
  • $3,000 to the Inwood 150th Celebration Committee to support the Inwood 150
    Music Festival.
  • $1,500 to Heritage St. Clair for an activity booklet based on the history of St. Clair Township
  • $1,250 to the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority for the Campbell House
    Project interpretive signage.
