A five goal second period propelled the Mooretown Flags to an 8-4 win over the Sharks in PJHL action at Wheatley.

Wes Brooks scored twice and added an assist for the winners Wednesday. Dylan Dupuis continued his torrid pace with a goal and three assists. Dupuis is now riding a 13-game point streak dating back to late December with 13 goals and 23 points over that stretch.

Parker Currie, Masen Flett, Jace Dupuis, Carson Crawford and Dane Nisbet also scored for Mooretown.

John Chartrand (below) faced 41 shots, including 23 in the middle period, to become just the third goalie in Flags history to reach 50 regular season wins between the pipes. The others are Jake Wilkins with 59 and Brandon Johnson with 51.

With the win, Mooretown leapfrogged Wheatley and Amherstburg for third place in the Stobbs Division.

The Flags entertain Walpole Island on Saturday in the first of three straight home games to end the regular season.
