Callister wins big for LCCVI at the Lambton-Kent Wrestling championship

Ellie Callister of LCCVI was named the female most valuable player at the Lambton-Kent high school wrestling championship at Northern Collegiate in Sarnia.

She was one of two Lambton wrestlers to win the top prize at the event. Jordan Anderson of North Lambton was the winner of the Doug Sykes Memorial award and the male MVP.

St. Patrick’s Secondary School won the overall championship at the event. The Irish outscored Great Lakes 118-109 for the trophy. The host Vikings were third with 102 points.

St. Patrick’s prevailed in a tight three-way race this week for the overall championship at the Lambton Kent high school wrestling championship at Northern.

The SWOSSAA championship will be held at Lambton College Thursday, Feb. 20.

Jordan Anderson of North Lambton was names the Male MVP of the tournament.
