New business group to help Lambton businesses through tariff troubles
April 2, 2025
There is s a new group hoping to build businesses up in Lambton while Canada face a tariff threat from the US.
A number of non-profit groups, government agencies and municipal governments – including Lambton Shores, Warwick Township, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, Tourism Sarnia Lambton and Chambers of Commerce in Grand Bend and Sarnia-Lambton – have banded together to create the Lambton Business Collaborative. The goal is to address business challenges and create opportunities.
Shauna Carr of Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership says in a news release the main focus right now is “minimizing the impacts of the ongoing tariff and international trade situation, while actively creating opportunities to actively engage with those who are most burdened by the realities of cross-border business.”
On April 8, the Business Development Bank of Canada will host a webinar to inform business how they can navigate the tariffs being levied by the US.
Then, on April 14, BDC, the Chambers of Commerce from both Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-kent are hosting an Economic Outlook called Navigating the Unknown. The BDC’s chief economist will talk about economic trends, business challenges and emerging opportunities.
You can register for the events at the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce’s website.
