The London Knights have three big games this week entertaining the Kitchener Rangers in a rare Wednesday contest before a home-and-home series on the weekend with the conference-leading Windsor Spitfires. London is at home on Friday before traveling to Windsor Saturday.
London split games with Saginaw on the weekend. Watford’s Evan Van Gorp notched his first power-play goal of the season and his fifth tally overall as the Knights beat the Spirit, 8-5.
The Knights are 15-8-3 and in second place in the Midwest Division, a point behind Owen Sound and a point better than Kitchener.
The Spitfires, with Jack Nesbitt on its roster, has a one-point lead in the West Division and the Western Conference over the Flint Firebirds.
Nesbitt, who has family ties to both Alvinston and Petrolia, reached 100 career regular season points earlier this month. The Philadelphia Flyers draft choice has seven goals and 20 points in 19 games this season.
