April 4, 2026

Barry Wright/The Independent

We are the champions, my friend.

That’s the refrain from the Alvinston Killer Bees after beating the Oshwegen Six Nations Ironmen, 5-2 on the road Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bees win the best-of-five NPHL Metro Conference final in four games.

Joseph Raaymakers made 43 saves and was named the first star of the decisive contest while Ethan Lamoureux scored the game-winning goal late in the second period.

After Cameron Krupa and James McEwan scored to give Alvinston a 2-0 lead in the first period, the home team battled back to tie the game at 2 before Lamoureux’s goal less than two minutes after the Ironmen had drawn even.

Brennan Feasey, who also had two assists, and Grant Spence iced the title with goals six minutes apart in the second half of the third period.

The Bees now advance to the Outlaw tournament in Smiths Falls, near Ottawa, later in April.
