Nesbitt, McLaughlin riding playoff win streak with Windsor Spitfires

Lambton Jr. Sting grads Jack Nesbitt and John McLaughlin and the Windsor Spitfires are riding a seven game winning streak going into game four of their OHL Western Conference semi-final in Flint Thursday.

Sarnia’s Nesbitt, who has family connections to Petrolia and Alvinston, scored twice including the game- winner as the Spits opened the best-of-seven series with a 4-2 home ice victory last Friday. He was also 23-for-30 in the dot.

Meantime, Nesbitt had the equalizer and added an assist as Windsor beat the Firebirds, 6-5 on Sunday afternoon. Corunna’s McLaughlin added an assist in game two.

Elsewhere in the OHL playoffs, Kitchener leads the Soo, three games to none, Brantford has swept North Bay to move on to the Eastern Conference final, and Barrie is up two games to one on the Ottawa 67’s.

Eamon Edgar, who has family ties to Petrolia, is on the Colts’ roster.
