LCCVI, North Lambton kick off LKSSAA soccer season

LCCVI’s senior girls soccer team and North Lambton’s senior boys soccer team are both off to perfect starts after the first week of LKSSAA games.

LCCVI’s senior girls team got a 1-0 win over North Lambton on Tuesday afternoon in Petrolia.

Campbelle Brown scored the lone goal of the match in the first half. Shelby Hewitt recorded the shutout for Lancers.

LCCVI remained undefeated with a 2-1 win over John McGregor in Chatham on Thursday afternoon.

Belle Stewart and Caelin Podolinsky potted goals for the Lancers.

On the same day in Forest, North Lambton rebounded with a 2-0 victory over Wallaceburg.

Jenna Marsh and Lainie Rintoul found the back of the net for the Eagles.

North Lambton’s senior boys soccer team opened their season with a 6-0 victory over LCCVI on Tuesday.

Kostia Voronko led the way for the Eagles with a hat trick. Owen Tremaine added two goals and Ryder Maness had the other marker.

Brennan Stanlake got the shutout for North Lambton.

The Eagles snagged their second win of the week on Thursday, beating Wallaceburg 1-0.

Meanwhile in Chatham, LCCVI picked up a point with a 3-3 draw against John McGregor.

Luke Shaw knocked in two goals for the Lancers. Gavin Carver scored the other goal for LCCVI.

The next games for LCCVI and North Lambton will both be at home on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lancers host Wallaceburg for a doubleheader. The girls game will begin at 3:30 and the boys game will follow around 5:00.

The Eagles will play a pair of games against John McGregor. The girls game starts at 3:30 and the boys game will be after around 5:00.
