Big crowds take in Petrolia’s Canada Day finale

North Lambton, LCCVI tied at top of the table in Senior Girls’ soccer

Emmalee George recorded a hat trick to lead North Lambton to a 5-nil win over Wallaceburg in LKSSAA Senior Girls’ AA soccer Monday. George has now scored for the Eagles in three straight games. Kylee Bork and Ally Rintoul also scored for Forest.
The team is now riding a four-game winning streak and is 4-1 on the season. Keisha Manness and Brookelynn MacKenzie shared the clean sheet.
Jamie Woodburn scored twice May 5 and George had the other as North Lambton defeated John McGregor, 3-nil.
LCCVI kept pace with the Eagles in the standings beating John McGregor 2-nil Monday. Shelby Hewitt had the clean sheet for the Lancers and Neve Morningstar scored both Petrolia goals.
May 7 in Forest, the Eagles edged LCCVI 2-1. George and Julia Leyten scored the Eagles. Isabella Stewart replied for the Lancers. Caetlin Podolinsky and Olivia Minten found the back of the net May 5 as the Lancers downed Wallaceburg 2-1.
In Boys’ AA action, North Lambton improved to 5-0 with a 5-nil win at Wallaceburg Monday.
LCCVI has three losses and two draws in five games after a 4-1 loss to John McGregor Monday. Gavin Carver scored for the Lancers.
North Lambton beat Petrolia 3-1 May 7 with Kingston Burns scoring for LCCVI and Carver scored for the Lancers in a 1-1 draw with Wallaceburg.
The girls and boys NLSS and LCCVI squads close out the regular season with road games Thursday. North Lambton takes on the Panthers at John McGregor in Chatham and the Lancers go up against the Tartans in Wallaceburg.
Playoffs begin May 19.
