Petrolia, CUPE strike four-year deal

Petrolia’s public works and parks and arena staff have a new, four-year contract.
Town council looked at the proposal behind closed doors May 11 and approved the deal.
Mandi Pearson, Clerk and Director of Legal Services, says the town and members of CUPE Local 2393 met seven times to reach the agreement for the nine full-time and part-time staff. The number of part-time employees can range from seven to 16 when summer students are hired.
The deal, which includes wage increase from three per cent to 3.25 per cent over the four years of the deal which is retroactive to January 2026.
