Watford’s Kyle Brothers is the latest area talent to return home to play senior hockey for the Alvinston Killer Bees of the Northern Premier Hockey League.

The 32-year-old has played professionally in Europe for the past eight seasons.

He played junior hockey in Alvinston, Lambton Shores and Chatham before skating for four seasons of NCAA hockey at Michigan’s Adrian College.

Among Brothers’ junior campaigns, he had 65 goals and 139 points in 58 total games with the Chatham Maroons in 2013-14.

“Kyle’s addition gives the Bees another dangerous offensive weapon and another proud local player who understands what hockey means in our community,” said the Bees in a social media post Monday announcing the acquisition.

Less than 24 hours later, the Bees also announced the signing of smooth-skating defenceman Brad McAlpine from just outside of Alvinston.

The Lambton Jr. Sting AAA grad has played junior hockey for the past five seasons in St. Thomas and Blenheim.

This past season he was named the Blades’ defenceman of the year and also received the team’s leadership trophy.
