Incumbent mayor says ‘large number of citizens urging me run’ for stability in the city

There are now four people vying for the mayor’s chair in Sarnia.
Carrie McEachran, the CEO of the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce, has filed her nomination papers for the position, saying she was encouraged by “residents throughout the community” to run.
McEachran joins current councillors Bill Dennis – who declared he would run in October 2023 – and Chrissy McRoberts as well as businessman Scott Molson in the race. McEachran will take a leave of absence from her position at the chamber during the campaign. The board’s Vice Chair, Steve Crozier, will become Interim CEO.
Long-time mayor, Mike Bradley, has yet to announce whether he will run. In the last 11 municipal elections Bradley has run and won the mayor’s seat, he’s filed his nomination papers on the last day.
The Independent asked Bradley if he’s considering a 12th term of office. He replied by email that he is focused on the city issues of affordability, housing, addictions and the economy and the damage being done by tariffs imposed by the US President.
“I have appreciated the large number of citizens urging me run to keep strength, stability, fiscal fitness and strong leadership for the city in very challenging times,” he said. “The feedback is they want a mayor who is not beholding to special interests and is tried, tested and true.”
