Nathan Beer is the first signing announced for the coming PJHL season by the Petrolia Flyers.

The 18-year-old left-shot forward played the past two seasons with the Burlington-based Blyth-Deerview Raiders prep team following two seasons with the U16 and U18 squads in Strathroy.

Beer played one game with the Flyers in 2024 scoring in a contest against the Sailors in Port Stanley.

Meantime, goaltender Theron Morningstar has signed with Welland of the Greater Ontario Hockey League. The Kingston native was assigned to the Flyers by the Strathroy Rockets last October and made 18 appearances with Petrolia posting a record of 10-2-3 with an .897 save percentage.

In other PJHL news, the Mooretown Flags have added to its goaltending depth signing Ciaran Guitton-Quayle.

The 18-year-old Kitchener product last played with the Waterloo Wolves AA team during the 2024-25 season.

On the GOHL front, blue-liner Emerson Jackson has re-signed with the Sarnia Legionnaires and fellow defenceman John Montanino of Sarnia has signed with the Strathroy Rockets.

Montanino, who played minor hockey in Detroit last season, was a third-round pick by Brampton in the OHL draft earlier this month.

Former Jr. Sting Michael Robertson is returning to play for his hometown Chatham Maroons. He played tier two junior hockey in eastern Ontario last season.
