LCCVI claimed second place at its own swim meet.

Both the boys and girls placed second in the ranking at the Lancer Invitational at the Oil Heritage District Community Centre Friday.

Bethany Robinson of Wyoming once again led the team to the strong finish, placing first in the 50 meter freestyle, the 100 meter freestyle and the 100 meter Individual Medley.

Her sister, Hannah, also took first, in the Women’s over 15 100 meter breaststroke. Haylee McFadden came second in that race.

Marlee Darrach also claimed top of the podium in the 15 and Over 100 meter backstroke and Kelly Wilks placed second in the under 14 50 meter backstroke. Madison McKinlay took second in the 14 and under 100 meter freestyle.

The women also took top of the podium in the women’s senior freestyle relay, and senior 200 meter medley.

Nathan Font took first in the men’s senior breaststroke to lead the boys team. Other strong finishers from LCCVI were Warren Potter, Armand Bryce, Alec Jeffery, and Jacob Leliveld

The LCCVI boys also took second in the junior 200 meter medley and 200 meter freestyle.

Other local swimmers who placed well were Natacsha deBoer of St. Pat’s from Wyoming who had a first in the 50 meter breaststroke, a second and a fifth in the meet. Her brother, Nathanael, placed third in the 50 meter freestyle.
