Public health looking for people who may have been exposed to Lambton’s third measles case

We’re ready for spring Oil Springs Ollie
February 2, 2014
Oil Springs Ollie could be a hero the first time he makes an appearance.
The groundhog will be the main attraction today as Oil Springs residents gather to find out if he’ll predict an early spring.
The event is the brain child of Peggy Jenkins of Heaven’s Wildlife Rescue. She uses Ollie in her naturalist talks at schools and thought it would be a good idea to have a Groundhog Day event in Oil Springs.
The village agreed and Oil Springs Mayor Ian Veen has rented a tux to preside over Sunday morning’s event.
Ollie will come out to judge the weather at 8:30 am at the Oil Springs Youth Centre and then families are invited to a fundraising breakfast for the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Wildlife Rescue until noon.
