A woman walks down Broadway Street in Wyoming with a snow shovel Monday.

The winter storm which blew in over the weekend has affected just about everything.

Schools are closed and busses cancelled as road crews try to clear the 30 centimetres of snow which fell in the region over the last 36 hours. Many municipal offices are closed, including Petrolia and Plympton-Wyoming’s. The Oil Heritage District Community Centre is closed as is the Greenwood Recreation Centre.

Some businesses are open, but many have simply shut their doors for the day. Appointments at the local hospitals have also been postponed for out-patient services. If you have anything scheduled it is best to call ahead for more information.

And in Petrolia, Waste Management is attempting to complete its curbside pickup today however items should be left as close to the road as possible and anything that has been buried by a snow plow won’t be picked up.

Lambton County has closed a number of buildings as well; including the county administration building in Wyoming, Lambton Shared Services in Sarnia, Lambton Heritage Museum in Grand Bend, Oil Museum of Canada in Oil Springs, Lambton County Archives in Wyoming, Lambton County Library Headquarters in Wyoming, and the Sarnia Library.

Highways in the area are generally snow-covered. Oil Heritage Line was track bare to bare in places with icy patches. Secondary roads are more likely to be drifted and some subdivision in the region have yet to see a snow plow.
