Sarnia Police now say two people were injured in an accident on the 402 near Christina St.

Sarnia Fire Rescue responded along with Point Edward Fire Rescue with five trucks and 15 firefighters to the west bound 402 at Christina St. for a multi vehicle collision with injuries just after 8 am.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and one person was extricated from one of the vehicles. Two people were transported to hospital with unknown injuries. The OPP say three transports were involved in the crash. One of the drivers, a 52 year-old American man, is in critical condition. The other had minor injuires.

Traffic is being rerouted around the accident off Christina Street. The OPP says the detour will likely continue until 4 pm.
