It will be a little more difficult to get around in Petrolia for a couple of days.

Overgrown trees and vines shroud workers preparing for a movie shoot at Sunnyside Mansion in Petrolia.

Film crews will be shooting scenes for Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark starting Thursday at Sunnyside, also known as Fairbank House. Crews have been reading the grounds for about a week now. By Wednesday an old chain link fence had been erected around the property and platforms were being built for the filming.

During filming, traffic will be restricted and that means part of the town’s main thoroughfare will be shut down until Saturday morning.

The Town of Petrolia has announced a number of street closures which start Thursday at noon.

.Petrolia Line will be closed between Station St. and First Ave with no access or through traffic.

Tank Street will be closed between Petrolia Line to Discovery Line with no access or through traffic.

Railroad Street will be closed between Tank Street to Station Street with no access or through traffic.
And there will be no through traffic from Greenfield to Walnut or School Streets. The streets will be closed off until 9 am Saturday.
