Watford’s downtown ‘100 per cent populated’ this fall says mayor
More layoffs coming at Waterville
January 16, 2019
Petrolia’s largest employer has laid off about five per cent of its staff and company officials say there may be more to come.
In the last month, 32 people have been issued layoff notices from the auto parts plant.
In a news release, Waterville Human Resources Manager Tatiana Pasqual says work from Corolla is winding down. And she says reduced business from other companies have “required corresponding manpower reductions.
“At this time, the company is anticipating that further, similar layoffs will be necessary in February and March”
It’s not clear how long the layoff will be but Pasqual says there is new business coming to the plant which produces automotive sealing systems.
