The number of people testing positive for the novel coronavirus in Lambton is up again – eleven more cases have been confirmed today. And another person has died as a result of the virus.

Lambton Public Health figures show the 13.75 per cent jump and the death of another person. Four of Lambton’s deaths as of Friday were residents of Landmark Village retirement home in Sarnia. Lambton Public Health officials will brief the media at 11 am about the latest cases.

Across the province, there have been 309 more people test positive, up 7.7 per cent Public health officials say 4,347 cases have been confirmed as of April 6. Officials say 589 of those people are in hospital, 216 in intensive care and 160 using a ventilator.  Public Health Ontario officials say there are 400 intensive care beds across the province and modelling of the virus shows there may be more people who need to be in intensive care than beds as early as this week. Officials say hospitals across the province could add another 900 ICU beds in “short order.”
