More people at Vision Nursing Home develop COVID-19

Three more people at a Sarnia nursing home have tested positive for COVID-19.

The latest statistics from Lambton Public Health show there were four new cases of the respiratory virus detected Sunday – three were in Vision Nursing Home.

COVID-19 was first detected in the Sarnia non-profit home April 23. Since then 14 residents and 10 staff members have tested positive. Four residents have died.

Two other long term care homes in Lambton have outbreaks, Marshall Gowland Manor and Village on the St. Clair.

In all, 225 people have been confirmed to have COVID-19, 163 have recovered and 19 have died.

Across Ontario, there have been 22,957 people who have had the virus – 304 were diagnosed yesterday. 1,904 people have passed away – 1,389 were seniors in long term care homes. Right now 189 homes have had outbreaks of the virus and 1,606 staff members have been ill from the virus. Five health care workers have died.

Charges laid after MPs office hit with rock
