Two new workplace outbreaks in Lambton

Seventy two new cases reported

Lambton Public Health is reporting two new workplace outbreaks with 10 people with COVID-19.

In a news release Sunday, public health officials say they declared two outbreaks in unnamed workplaces Saturday. In one six people are COVID-19 positive, in the other four are.

A workplace outbreak is declared when there are two or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 with links to the workplace. Public health doesn’t name the workplaces in an outbreak.

There are also eight nursing homes in the area dealing with the virus including at Village on the St. Clair where two residents have died and one at Twin Lakes Terrace where 15 residents are COVID-19 positive.

Lambton Public Health is reporting 72 new cases of COVID-19 today in the community with 238 actively ill – 39 more than yesterday. Lambton also marked another 33 recoveries Saturday.

Ontario is reporting 3,442 more cases of COVID-19 today and 69 deaths including 11 residents of long term care.
