Flaring expected at Nova Corunna today
April 7, 2021
Nova Chemical’s Corunna facility is experiencing elevated flaring as result of what the company says is “an on-site process unit upset.”
“The duration of flaring is anticipated to last eight to 12 hours, and we apologize for the noise and light disturbances that this causes our neighbours and community,” says Nova’s spokesperson Julia Iacovella. “We are actively working to return the facility to normal operating conditions as soon as possible.”
Flaring is the only impact anticipated at this time. Information updates for community are being shared via the CAER Industry Update Line.
