Temporary shelter still needed until more housing is ready

Two arrested in Walpole Island drug raid
December 20, 2021
Two Walpole Island First Nation residents are facing a raft of drug charges after a Friday drug raid.
Lambton OPP’s Crime Unit, TRUE team, Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team as well as the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau with the Walpole Island Police Service executed a search warrant at a home on Tecumseh Road.
Police seized fentanyl, methamphetamines, cocaine, a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.
Loni Ann Greenbird, 39 and Michael Isaac, 34, are facing three counts of drug trafficking and five weapons charges each. Isaac also faces charged of failing to follow bail orders.
The pair are being held in custody.
The warrant is part of the investigation launched as Walpole Island First Nation declared a state of emergency because of the current drug epidemic in the community. The OPP is working with the Walpole Island police service to adress the opioid crisis.
