Driver clocked doing 120 km/h in 80 heading to the US
September 2, 2025
Lambton OPP have charged a driver near the Bluewater Bridge after clocking a SUV going 120 km/h.
The OPP added extra patrols to Highway 402 to help deal with large backups of transport trucks this summer.
Monday afternoon, police stopped a westbound SUV travelling 120 km/hour in an 80 km/h zone. The driver was given a $295 fine and four demerit points. If workers would have been in the area, the fine would have doubled.
Police say the charges are proof that despite ongoing efforts, some motorists are still not getting the message to be careful approaching the US border. OPP plan to continue stepped up patrols for the “foreseeable future.”
