The first of the fall fairs begins today.
The Petrolia Fair opens today at 4 pm with children’s games and inflatables for fun.
For the adults the tractor pull is on tap starting at 7 pm.

There is not a midway at this year’s Petrolia Fair.
Saturday morning the parade winds its way down Petrolia Line starting at 11 am.
There is also ATV racing and wrestling starting at 1 pm.
Sunday’s big draw is the demolition derby which begins at 1 pm.

Renos at bank building likely to be done in a month

Heather Wright/The Independent Community groups may be able to use the old Scotia Bank building in Petrolia by the beginning of October. The town purchased the building last year after the company decided to close the branch. Council approved a plan to rent out the front of the building for retail space and use the back as a community room.

No backyard chickens in St. Clair
