The polls are now closed in Lambton Shores as residents wait to see who will be the next leaders in the community.

Incumbent Doug Cook is facing a challenge from current councillor, Jeff Wilcox, as he hopes to secure a second term as mayor. Wilcox has served as the representative for Ward 7 for three terms.

Dan Sageman, who has already said he plans to run for mayor in 2030, is seeking a third term as deputy mayor. He also served two terms as a councillor. Newcomer Marilyn Smith, who ran for the mayor’s office in 2022, is seeking to unseat Sageman.

There are council races in Ward 1, where Randy McClinchey, Sarah Nicholson, and Chris Vanderydt are running; Ward 4, where newcomers David McLean and DJ Pugh are on the ballot; Ward 5 – Jim Hanson and Suzanne Shea are seeking office and Ward 7, where Randy Shaw and Jeff Girling, are running.
