Christa Woods and Helga Mursall look over some of the 70 collector dolls which were donated to the CEE Auxiliary to sell at their store.

Doll collectors have been heading to Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital this week. They’re not sick; they’re looking for deals on dolls.

Recently, the hospital auxiliary received a donation of 70 collector dolls and decided to hold a sale, with each doll selling between $10 and $25. Shop manager Christa Woods says they put as many of the dolls into the small tuck shop and advertised the sale.

More than half of the dolls were sold in one week. “One lady bought five dollars as Christmas presents for a little girl,” says Woods. “One for the next five years.”

Still others came in looking for dolls with specific names for their children and one man bought a doll which he’ll take to Edmonton for a Christmas present.
