Public health looking for people who may have been exposed to Lambton’s third measles case

OPP says driver didn’t pose a threat to young Petrolia girl
June 2, 2014
Lambton OPP say an older man talking to a young Petrolia girl was not a threat.
Last Monday, a young girl was walking her dog on North Street when she was approached by an older man in a brown SUV or van. At the time of the incident, police said there was a suggestion by the driver to have the girl go to his home with him for candy.
The girl went home went to look for help and the family called the OPP about the incident.
In a news release OPP now say, “As a result of the follow-up investigation, the Lambton OPP officer is satisfied that there was a miss-communication between the man and the girl and that the male did not pose a threat to the female or the public in general.”
Police still encourage parents and children to contact them with any suspicious behaviour so they can check it out.
