Forest Kiwanis hope a mandarin, apple and cucumber can raise some cash for Kineto

Freezing rain prompts closures
March 3, 2015
The freezing rain has begun in Petrolia and Central Lambton.
That’s lead to the early closure of the Oil Heritage District Community Centre. Staff closed the doors at 1pm today because of the weather. This morning, local schools cancelled buses because of the coming weather.
Environment Canada has a freezing rain warning in effect until this evening.
A low pressure system tracking toward southern Ontario today will bring a wintery mix of precipitation to the region. The snow is forecast to transition to ice pellets and freezing rain from west to east later today, beginning around noon in the Windsor area and by mid to late afternoon in the Hamilton, Oakville and Niagara regions. The freezing precipitation will persist for a few hours before tapering to some light rain or drizzle as temperatures rise above the freezing mark early this evening.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
