Tragically Hip fans won’t have to go too far to take in the band’s final concert.
Petrolia will be hosting an outdoor screening of the CBC’s broadcast of the iconic Canadian band’s final concert in Kingston Aug. 20 at the Petrolia Farmers’ Market building.
Fans across the nation clamoured for tickets after the band announced this would be its last tour since lead singer Gord Downie was suffering from brain cancer. Tickets disappeared almost as soon as they were released prompting the CBC to work with the band to broadcast the final concert in Kingston.
Communities across the nation are hosting viewing parties including Sarnia and Petrolia.
“The permission to partner with CBC and The Tragically Hip was granted recently. Donations at the event are for the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.
The evening will start at 7:30PM.
