Warwick hopes to start construction of $10 million community center this spring

November 26, 2020

The new $10 million Warwick Community Hall is moving ahead.

Warwick Township council agreed to move ahead with the long talked about replacement for Centennial Hall at a special council meeting Wednesday.

In 2017, the council of the day concluded the hall built in 1967 could no longer be repaired and discussion began on replacing it.

Over the next three years, council consulted with user groups and the public and eventually the plan to connect a community center to the Watford arena took shape.

The plan, as it stands now, will include additional dressing rooms and improved accessibility in the arena, meeting rooms, a large multi-purpose room and a fitness facility, offered in partnership with the YMCA.

Officials hope to begin construction in 2021.

The municipality is applying for grants for the new building and renovation of the arena. It’s also launching a fundraising campaign with the help of a consultant.
