Number of COVID-19 cases daily in Lambton continues decreasing

There were just three new cases of COVID-19 in Lambton reported today.

Lambton Public Health reports there have been 1,845 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began nearly 11 months ago. Over 1,300 of those have been since December.

Just 68 people are actively ill right now in Lambton.

There are no new cases of COVID-19 in the four long term care outbreaks. There are also two workplace outbreaks with five and three cases.

Ontario is reporting just 745 cases today however public health officials say the number is artificially low since Toronto Public Health transfered its data to the provincial system and today. A number of duplicate cases were found and the overall numbers were readjusted.

Fourteen residents of long term care homes died with COVID-19 public health reports Tuesday. There were 36 people in all who passed away.

The province says they have now found 109 cases of the UK variant and one case of the South African varient in Ontario.
