Flags rally to beat Wallaceburg

The Mooretown Flags rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits to eek out a 4-3 win over the Wallaceburg Thunderhawks on Saturday night at the Moore Sports Complex.

Jace Dupuis (below) and Masen Flett scored in the final 40 seconds of the second period, including the equalizer at 19:59 before Dupuis won it with his second of the game with just 74 seconds left in regulation time.

Dupuis equalled his season high of four points with two goals and two assists. Brody Genyn had the other Flags goal and added two assists.

Dupuis has now registered points in four of his last five games.

Sarnia’s Jacob Trudgeon took the loss for the Hawks with 45 saves as Mooretown outshot Wallaceburg, 49-37.

Mooretown is at Wheatley tomorrow (Tuesday) night and then host to Lakeshore on Saturday at 7:30.

The Flags have 37 points and are nine points back of the Sharks and Blenheim who are tied for third place in the Stobbs Division standings.
