Zion Line remains closed because of flood damage
August 28, 2023
Warwick Township road crews are assessing the damage on local roads after flooding.
Wednesday between seven and 10 inches of rain fell in East Lambton with much of the damage in Warwick Township.
Public works employees worked over the weekend to open most of the roads which had been damaged, however Zion Line requires further assessment and is closed until further notice, town officials said in a news release.
Every gravel road in the municipality was damaged because of the rainfall, officials said. Roads that suffered the worst damage will be fixed first and township staff say people should drive at reduced speeds in case they encounter damage.
Meantime, homeowners who had flooding damage had a chance to get rid of their items. Waste Management had the landfill open for extended hours Saturday and waste bins have been set up at the East Lambton Community Complex for people to drop off their items until Monday.
