Petrolia’s Campbell heading to National Track and Field championship

July 18, 2024

Petrolia’s Hunter Campbell will represent Ontario at the Legion National Track and Field Championship.

Campbell set a personal best at the Ontario Legion Track and Field Championships at Toronto’s York University last weekend. He uncorked a throw of 49.60 metres and won a silver medal in the boys’ under 18 discus final. He also won silver in the hammer throw.

Campbell was named to the Ontario Team Wednesday. “Representing Ontario at Nationals has been a dream that I have had since I was a little kid. That dream just became a reality,” he wrote on social media.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity and I am amazed at how far that I have gotten in this sport already… I am more than honoured to be able to represent this province.”

The Legion Youth Canadian National Track and Field Championships takes place in Calgary this August.
