Lancers honoured by Sarnia-Lambton

Three Lancers qualify for provincial championship

Three LCCVI Lancers are heading to the provincial track and field championships in Ottawa.
Hunter Campbell, Meagan Munro and Kole Chapman earned their berths Thursday at the West Regionals Thursday.
Campbell placed second in the Senior Discus with a throw of 47.44 – almost four meters more than he threw at the SWOSSAA championship last week.
Munro also improved her time from the SWOSSAA championship, running the 80M Junior Hurdles in 12.44 placing in third.
And Kole Chapman stretched to the finish, placing third in the Junior 100M Hurdle 14.28 to advance to OFSSA.
James Grant placed seventh in the Senior 1500M, besting his SWOSSAA time of 4:07.63 with a time of 4:01.75.
Darius Landon placed seventh in Senior High Jump. SWOSSAA winner Jeremiah Zomerman from Dresden placed third with a jump of 1.90M.
Xander Knapp placed 11th in the Novice 100M Hurdles with a time of 16.68. He also placed ninth in the Novice Long Jump with a jump of 5.63M.
Jamison Helps placed 12th in the Junior Shot Put.
Lambton-Kent Composite’s Juliet Osborne came in seventh in the junior triple jump.
Kinser Rivet placed ninth in the Junior 100m. And Julia Pegg placed 13th in both Senior High Jump and Triple Jump.
There is more action at West Region in London Friday.
Hunter, Chapman and Munro will head to OFSAA in Toronto next weekend.
