The Petrolia Flyers will be looking to extend their four-game winning streak when they host the Lucan Irish on Thursday night at 7:30 pm.
Meantime, Isaac Truman will represent Petrolia on the ice at the PJHL Prospects Game Saturday in Wingham. The Flyers will also be represented behind the bench with the Petrolia staff of Adam Craievich, Jarret Marks, Carter Barron and Joel Pavey being named as the Western Conference coaching staff.
Back on Oct. 30, Jace McGrail scored his first ever junior hockey overtime winner as the Petrolia Flyers ran their point streak to five games with a 6-5 win over Exeter at Greenwood.
Joey Hayter scored for the home team in the first period as the teams went to the dressing room tied at 1 through 20 minutes.
After Truman, Andrew Jaques and Parker Davidson scored in the second period the visitors rattled off four consecutive goals and had a 5-4 lead before Truman scored his second of the game at 12:24 of the final frame to set up the overtime heroics.
The winning goal came at 1:52 of the extra period.
Ty Moffatt and Logan O’Leary-Dilosa both had two assists for Petrolia.
Theron Morningstar registered his first win as a Flyer with 33 saves as Exeter outshot the Flyers, 38-35.
Petrolia, now 7-4-1, was to have played the Sailors in Port Stanley last Saturday but the game was postponed so fans could watch game seven of the World Series between the Blue Jays and Dodgers. No make up date has been announced.
