Blizzard conditions expected in Eastern Lambton
February 6, 2026
Environment Canada has issued an Orange Blizzard alert for East Lambton including Warwick Township and Lambton Shores.
Forecasters say blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected. Strong northwesterly winds will develop this afternoon which will lead to widespread blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility. Visibility may be near zero for wind-prone and exposed areas, particularly near the Lake Huron shore. Snow squalls are also expected to impact the area with local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm possible by Saturday morning, mainly near the Lake Huron shore.
Officials say you should keep emergency supplies in your vehicle such as extra blankets and jumper cables. Travel will be dangerous and likely impossible due to near-zero visibility. Road closures are possible. Officials say you should void travel and outdoor activities, if possible.
If you must travel, have an emergency plan. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle.
If you become lost or stranded, remain where you are until conditions improve. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
Lambton Public Health has also issued a Cold warning since the windchill is expected to be in the -30 C range during the next two days.
