The Alvinston Killer Bees are just one win away from becoming Metropolitan Division Champions.

The Bees beat the Six Nations Ironmen 4-2 to take a 2-1 lead in the best of five series.

Caden Faulkner opened the scoring for Alvinston at 9:21 in the first.

The bulk of the action was in the second as Terry Brigland notched one for the Ironmen on the power play at 18:06 in the second. Cameron Krupa scored to help the Killer Bees retake the lead. Tyler Hill scored two minutes later for Six Nations to even the score. But before the period was over Jamie Schaafsma hit the back of the net to put Alvinston up 3-2.

Grant Spence secured the game with a goal with about 1:31 left in the game.

Ethan Lamoureux had two assists for the Killer Bees. Joseph Raaymakers stopped 31 for the home team and was named the first star of the game. Faulkner was named the second star and Brigland of the Ironmen was the third star.

The series moves to Six Nations Saturday. The Killer Bees could wrap the series up there. If they don’t the final game will be in Alvinston Sunday.
